Starting Monday, we'll start blogging from the western part of the state, from Boone to Brevard, from Asheville to Ashe County. It's the perfect time for a mountain visit, as the region's abundant foliage begins its annual display of brilliant fall color.
Speaking of which, the color change is already well under way. While "green" is still the predominant color, individual trees and hillsides have broken out even BEFORE the calendar turned to October. The picture above was taken on a hillside between Beech Mountain and Grandfather Mountain a few days ago.
In any case, look for some daily mountain blogging starting Monday!
